It carries passengers from the anchored sailing ship. Another rowboat is docked nearby, ready to transport those who wish to go ashore. In the distance, a mountain range is visible, and triangular sails of other small ships flicker.

Thanks to transparent and soft shades, it seems as if a warm evening breeze is wafting from the painting. White-winged seagulls, a floating anchor in the foreground, the strip of the setting sun reflected in the water, relaxed postures of people—everything speaks of tranquility and serenity. The sinking horizon line, shrouded in a lilac haze, visually expands the boundaries of space. One can endlessly admire the beautiful southern view.
